Aurelia Paukstelis

Aurelia was born in Siauliai, Lithuania on January 2, 1932.  Her parents were Bronius and Jadvyga Jaras.  Like many Lithuanians, Aurelia and her family fled Lithuania during World War II.  They lived in a "displaced person" camp in Germany until they immigrated to the United States in 1951.  Aurelia and her family settled in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

In 1959, Aurelia married Vytautas Paukstelis.  They continued to make their lives in Kenosha and had three daughters; Vita, Lyna and Tina.

Aurelia recorded three albums  in the early 1970's at Columbia Studios in Chicago, Illinois.  These albums were produced by her husband Vytautas under the label Vita Record Company.  Her albums were listened to by thousands throughout the world.  Aurelia appeared numerous times on a Lithuanian television program in Chicago and gave several live concerts in the Chicago area.  She was also a regular on Lithuanian radio.

Sadly, Aurelia passed away on November 24, 1996.  Fortunately for all, her music lives on.
